CONSULTATION PREP INSTRUCTIONS

Ensuring a Chic Experience!

  • Interlock consultations generally take about 30 minutes, depending on questions that you may have.


  • Due to limited salon space and seating, additional guests and/or children MAY NOT accompany you during your consultation appointment without the Loctician’s prior consent for special circumstances.   


  • A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $250 to book your Interlocks establishment appointment on the calendar is required if you decide to move forward with the installation.  Cash is always the preferred method of payment; however, you can pay your deposit via the website, Zelle, CashApp, or Venmo.  You may pay your deposit the same day of your consultation, or you may pay it at a later time when you are ready to book the appointment.  Please note that your deposit fee will be applied to your quoted installation price. You are only required to pay the consultation fee at the consultation appointment.  However, if you decide to move forward with the installation, a calendar date IS NOT locked in or reserved until the deposit payment is received. Should you decide to cancel your appointment after the deposit has been paid, please note that your deposit WILL NOT be refunded.  The NON-REFUNDABLE deposit will only be applied to a future service.


  • For health and safety reasons, please come to your appointment with your hair clean and dry.  Please wash your hair the day before your appointment.  Clarifying shampoos work best.  If your hair is “squeaky” clean, this is actually a good thing. 


  • Please DO NOT blow dry or straighten your hair in any way.


  • DO NOT add any conditioners, oils, or moisturizers to your hair before your visit!  This may present an inconvenience to you, but I need your hair in its purest state when I assess your hair.  Please DO comb through your hair and detangle it before the consultation.

CLIENT AGREEMENT

  • On my establishment date and all follow-up appointments, my hair will be washed within 48-hours (unless the Loctician will be providing a Wash Service) of my appointment and free from any products.  I will ensure that my scalp is in a healthy condition.  I agree that if I am medically ill (i.e., cold, flu, or fever), exhibiting any signs of illness, or have concerns with my scalp, I will notify my Loctician to determine if I will need to reschedule my appointment. 


  • I promise to maintain my interlocks according to the maintenance guidelines discussed during my consultation. Regular retightening appointments are necessary and failure to follow my Loctician’s recommendations may result in unsatisfactory results.  No more than 4-5 weeks between retightening’s is recommended for new locks that have not fully settled and matured. For fully settled and matured locks, retightenings are recommended every 6-8 week, unless there are special circumstances warranting more or less frequent visits. At 10+ weeks, retightening fees may be increased by $25 if excessive new growth and/or maintenance are required.  I understand that going 11+ weeks between retightenings may result in Chic Locs Locticians no longer being able to maintenance my hair. 


  • My Loctician will recommend products for my hair to produce the best results.  Not using the recommended products may result in slippage, tangling, or product residue. These conditions may add additional time and money to the maintenance of my hair. 


  • I understand that by not properly braiding and banding, improper washing techniques, or excessively dying my hair may increase retightening time, cost and/or cause damage to my locks. If this happens, my Loctician will not be responsible for the damage and may make recommendations to reconstruct my locks.  Where locks are beyond repair, I understand that my Loctician may release me as a client! 


  • I will make and keep my follow-up appointments after my initial establishment in 3-6 week intervals, based on my Loctician’s recommendations. 


  • I will show up to my appointments ON-TIME and ALONE!  I will adhere to the above recommendations.  I will not engage in habitual tardiness, no-shows, and frequent last-minute cancellations. 


  • I understand that without notice, retightening fees are subject to change.


  • I understand that at times, my Loctician may take pictures of my hair for marketing purposes.
